Ear Training Apps Suck

Ear training apps have been frustrating guitar players for way too long, and here's why:

  1. Listening to Things over and over in isolation isn't the best way.

Now, listening to music and trying to identify what is going on is an excellent way to practice. But listening to intervals and chords in isolation is a slow and grueling process. It doesn't train you to transcribe real music because, in music, nothing is in isolation.

  1. It's Boring

We want to train our ears so that playing guitar is more enjoyable. If ear training isn't fun, then the likelihood of you being consistent with practice will be almost 0.
